Teachers – check out Christophe’s Story. In this book, an asylum-seeking child from Rwanda tells the children in his new English school why he left home. War, and the need to seek asylum are linked with bullying. The story was written for 8 – 12 year olds, and it has been put on the School Library Association’s list of Riveting Reads. You could use the book specifically in Black History month, or anti-bullying week, or more generally in discussion with children of all ages.
